About the artist
Hi, I'm Claudia—an interior designer, artist, and the founder of JOIA.
I was born in Brazil and now live in California with the love of my life. I have two beautiful daughters, a son-in-law, three stepchildren, a grandson, and two furry kids.
When I’m not immersed in creation, I love spending time with my family and friends, being in nature, appreciating art, traveling, and exploring different cultures. All of this inspires me deeply.
"Crafting with my hands"has always been a part of my life. As a child, I helped my mother with her beautiful handmade projects. I lovingly learned the art of crochet and Nanduti from my grandmother and had fun with my aunts doing tapestries, embroidery, and cross-stitch. I grew up surrounded by talented artisan women.
Over time, my professional life took me down different paths, and I became disconnected from that creative, artistic, and dreamy child.
Having the courage to change is liberating! I chose to have the courage and boldness to change, following my purpose of being and spreading happiness. Through art, I've been on a beautiful journey of healing, beauty and peace. This peace makes everything worthwhile.
JOIA was born from this reconnection with my essence. JOIA is a new beginning!
